University rules, code of conduct, dress code, and everything you need to know as a TIU student.

Your guide to campus life

This handbook is based on the TIU Code of Conduct , approved by the University Council on September 5, 2024. Every student is expected to be familiar with these rules and follow them throughout their studies.

Core Principles

Lawfulness

All students must follow the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the internal regulations of the university.

Fairness and Integrity

Students are expected to act with honesty, fairness, and impartiality in all academic and personal interactions.

Patriotism and Responsibility

Students carry out their academic duties based on moral values, loyalty to the country, and a commitment to their education.

Efficiency and Innovation

Students are encouraged to continuously improve through innovative approaches and responsible use of university resources.

Dress Code

All students must dress in a manner appropriate to the academic environment. The university requires a clean, modest, and professional appearance.

  • Female students: light-colored blouses, knee-length skirts or classic trousers, dark shoes
  • Male students: white, light blue, or light gray shirts, classic trousers, dark shoes
  • Outerwear (coats, jackets, hats) must not be worn inside classrooms
  • Clothing must not display religious or subculture symbols
  • Weekends: casual dress is allowed (with exceptions for official events)

Not Allowed

Transparent, revealing, or overly tight clothing

Visible piercings or tattoos (except ears and fingers)

Unusual hair colors or unkempt appearance

Headphones worn in classrooms or hallways

Campus Behavior

Punctuality

Arrive to classes on time. Late arrival is not allowed without a valid reason and the instructor's permission.

Mobile Phones

Mobile phones must be switched off during classes. Use is only allowed with the instructor's explicit permission.

Student ID

Show your student ID when entering campus. Access is not granted without valid identification.

Classroom Etiquette

Stand when the instructor enters. Do not eat, chew gum, or engage in activities unrelated to the lesson during class.

Hallway Conduct

Walk on the right side, greet staff and faculty, do not speak loudly on the phone in corridors.

Meetings and Events

Show respect to speakers, maintain order, and do not interrupt without the moderator's permission.

Strictly Prohibited

Zero tolerance policy

The following actions are strictly prohibited on campus and may result in disciplinary action, including expulsion:

  • Any form of violence, bullying, or harassment
  • Alcohol, tobacco, vaping, and any substance use on campus
  • Cheating, plagiarism, or submitting false documents
  • Damage to university property or the environment
  • Spreading false information about the university or its members
TIU Campus

Discipline and Accountability

Violations of the Code of Conduct are reviewed by the Ethics Committee (Odob-axloq komissiyasi). Depending on the severity, consequences may include:

2 Written reprimand

3 Probation

4 Expulsion

Students have the right to receive information about their case, present evidence in their defense, and appeal university decisions through the established procedure.

Report it to your tutor (murabbiy), faculty dean, Student Union, or the Ma'naviyat va ma'rifat markazi. You can also submit information through the university's official channels.
