On January 22, 2025, a ceremony was held at Tashkent International University to officially transfer the presidency of the Turkic Universities Union (TURKUNIB) from Azerbaijan State University of Economics to Tashkent International University. The event was attended by representatives of higher education institutions from Turkic states, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, rectors and vice-rectors of higher education institutions, leading experts in the fields of science and education, as well as faculty and students of Tashkent International University.
During the ceremony, Iskandar Yuldashev, Director of Tashkent International University, was introduced as the new president of the Turkic Universities Union. The official handover of the presidency took place successfully from Prof. Adolat Muradov, Rector of Azerbaijan State University of Economics. Through this event, Tashkent International University assumed the responsibility for managing the activities of the Turkic Universities Union for the next two years.
Tashkent International University, after accepting the presidency of TURKUNIB, plans to continue the Union's goals of developing global cooperation in the field of education, integrating scientific research and academic programs, and expanding cultural and scientific exchanges between Turkic countries. During the new presidency, special attention will be given to jointly developing new educational projects, organizing scientific and practical events for young scholars and students, and further developing the education systems of Turkic states on an international scale.
The university, as well as the cooperation with Turkic states in the field of education, aims to strengthen and make communication between universities more effective. The handover ceremony serves to open up new opportunities in this direction.
Prof. Adolat Muradov, Rector of Azerbaijan State University of Economics, expressed his gratitude to all member universities for their cooperation and support in continuing the successful activities of the Turkic Universities Union. He also emphasized that the Union had achieved major successes under his leadership and expressed confidence that under the new presidency, Tashkent International University would lead the Union to even stronger development.
All representatives who spoke at the ceremony expressed their willingness to work together for the future of the Turkic Universities Union and to further improve the quality of education.
After the official part of the event, a cultural and entertainment program was presented for the participants. Traditional dances and music of Turkic peoples were performed by students of Tashkent International University. The event concluded with a festive closing in an atmosphere of sincerity that deepened respect for the hospitality of our country, the shared values of Turkic peoples, and their cultural heritage.
For reference: TURKUNIB (Turkic Universities Union) is an organization established to develop cooperation between educational institutions and research centers in the Turkic world. Founded in 2009, its main mission is to strengthen cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture, and innovative technologies, as well as to enhance mutual relations between Turkic-speaking countries. On May 20, 2024, Tashkent International University became a member of this organization.
